Missing Girls Feared Dead Near Holland Michigan

Holland Michigan April 30 Two Holland girls aged 12 and 11 are believed shot to death after vanishing in a Lake Michigan park. Sheriff Bernard Grysen sought 16 year old James S Stephens for questioning as a blood stained tee shirt and a bicycle near a rail crossing are checked for clues. Bodies not found and a possible interstate flight are noted with a police search continuing.

Violence Escalates As Galveston Splash Days Riot Grows

Riot tor n Galveston prompts police to jail 51 youths using dogs and riot guns after a gunshot. About 800 youths, including many college students, have been arrested since Friday as fights erupted near a dance hall and a drive in. The Splash Days festival opened with thousands on the beach as officers fielded disturbances. Two deaths mar the event, with 250 officers deployed and 100,000 people along the parade route. James T. Bradford, 20, died in a car crash after the arrests. three other youths were seriously hurt. Miss Splash Days was Tina Lee, 20, with runner ups Vivian Southerland and Joyce Sustala.
