Both sides testified ceilings have squeezed profits and hindered operation.
Amarillo's Company A of the 14th Battalion Texas State Guard resumes the lead in attendance per February records from Borger battalion headquarters. Capt. J. Jack Rogers, commander, reports 66 men in strength at month end with 87.9 percent turnout for February.
American forces under Maj. Gen. William H. Arnold invaded Mactan Island and Cauit in Cebu Harbor, securing Opon and advancing after landing five miles south of Cebu City. Senate Majority Leader Barkley and Senator Thomas acknowledged the bill’s shaky prospects after a White House briefing. The measure, cleared by the House by seven votes, would empower War Mobilization Director James Byrnes to compel workers to stay at their posts.

Jewish troops of the U S First Army observing Passover hold services in synagogues long closed by the Nazis. Unleavened bread and sacramental wine prepared for the troops. Chaplain Samson M Goldstein at Ahrweiler presided over the Great Sabbath in a synagogue used since 1938 as a cam and liquor store. The reopening is framed as religious freedom not revenge.
