A new wing of the building will house an entrance on Seventh Street and provide space for 1,000 additional boxes. The proposed expansion outlines a revised layout to accommodate expanded storage and access.
The government approved an addition to Amarillo's federal building adding about 1000 lock boxes. The new wing on Seventh Street will measure 36 by 40 feet and expand the general work space. Specifications are due in days with bids planned. Postmaster W. C. Kenyon and Congressman Jones pushed the move, funded by a about $15,000 appropriation and other sources.
Mona Shay of Chillicothe was identified as the girl found in a ditch near Vekin Sunday morning. Dorothy Phillips, her half sister, led to the identification, and State's Attorney Louis Dunkelberg of Peoria county ordered the arrest of Harold M. Maders of Henry, Illinois.
Gus Stolz, son of Mrs. Louise Stolz of Washington County, Texas, is dead and Lada Urban, Wash ington postmaster, is jailed in Brenham charged with murder after a Sunday shooting in Washington.
Denton man Orion S tiarnett, 27, despondent over ill health, drank poison in his room at a Wichita Falls hotel. Justice of the Peace R U Gwinn returned a verdict of death by own action.

Washington March 29 Twenty four lawyers have been disbarred from practice before the treasury department following an internal revenue bureau probe. Fifteen others were suspended. Disbarments span three years with varied charges from attempted bribes to obtain taxpayer lists to collusion with income tax staff. Notables named include William W. Johnson Dallas John B. Rodgers New Orleans Charles W. Stewart Kansas City and James I. Tucker Oklahoma City.
Barbara Bennett, dancer, faced theft charges claiming $3000 in cash and jewels were stolen from her apartment while she was treated at a hospital for allegedly poisoned. Police found no missing valuables in their check and no investigation was opened. Bennett planned a professional appearance in LA before heading to London in May to join her mother, then to Paris to meet fiancé Louis Basualdo.
Tulsa district court sentenced Roy Boggs and his bride of ten days Lillie Boggs to two years each in the state penitentiary after confessing to burglary of a furniture store Friday night. They obtained about $10 in cash and stamps.
Austin March 29. State highway department may let contracts if one bid is submitted and all is regular. A C Love, state highway engineer, reported by the attorney general on the Sabine river bridge at Orange. The sole bid from Brown Abbott and Womack Construction of Dallas was opened last week. Project cost about 242000 dollars. The bridge is a noted engineering feat requiring unusual equipment, limiting bidders in the south.
A. P. reports from Austin that the Hoffman Construction Company of Eastland denies starting negotiation efforts for settling Texas’s $421,000 highway surfacing contract suit. President G. A. Davisson says statements misrepresent negotiations and the company is not at fault. Trial set for Thursday. F. G. Hoffman, indicted for swindling and false swearing, may be tried next Monday.

Mexia dispatch reports a three funeral service at Kosse Baptist church for Arnett Freeman 15 Riley Hunt 15 and Jesse Gidden 17 among four youths killed when a railroad derailment near Malone Hill County wrecked Sunday. One unidentified body held at Malone. Bodies sent home in hearse. Freeman suffered severe head injuries others badly lacerated. Two Mexicans aboard one overturned car escaped before it capsized.
Washington March 29 The Post Office Department asked the Interstate Commerce Commission to deny the American Newspaper Publishers Association the right to intervene in railroad rate proceedings. It warned that granting the petition would remove discretion from the Postmaster General by law. The publishers contend the commission lacks power to set postal rates for newspapers and that Congress should decide. SAN ANTONIO March 29 John E Elgin Texas Republican delegate urged Creager and Wurzbach factions to prove progress or boost GOP votes. He offered to fund one third of an investigative committee and one third of a 20000 campaign donation if the factions provide proof.
Major General Harry Taylor, chief of army engineers, asked Congress to authorize 654000 for Texas waterways improvements. Proposal includes Sabine Pass channel 800 feet wide, Port Arthur 200 feet, Sabine Neches 150 feet, larger Beaumont turning basin, upgraded wharves, and an anchorage basin in Sabine Pass. Maintenance estimated at 420000 annually, 164000 above current costs.
In Havana on March 29 the speedboat Baby Gar VIII driven by George Wood of Detroit sank in 100 fathoms after ramming the motorboat Miss Palm Beach in an open speedboat contest. Wood and mechanic Joe Kenny were rescued, while Miss Palm Beach was badly damaged and towed into Havana harbor.
Pasqual Maldonado, 45, was killed instantly when his bicycle skidded over a steep thirty foot embankment and plunged into a rock bottom ditch beside the Arroyo Chacon bridge approach near Laredo Texas. The accident occurred today, leaving Maldonado fatally injured with a broken neck.
RICHMOND Texas March 29. H P Fall former East Texas banker accused of murdering Mr and Mrs Camden Sanborn at their Hawkinsville Matagorda county home was denied bail by District Judge M S Mongon at a habeas corpus proceeding today.

The House approved a bill allowing the secretary of the interior to issue permits for potash prospecting on public lands, excluding Searle Lake area lands.
