In Fort Worth Texas on March 26 the Independent Petroleum Association of Texas moved toward formal organization and a membership drive. Tom E Cranfill was authorized to hire counsel and form a seven member committee to guide activities including a potential rate case under the new pipeline law. Russell Brown discussed the national I P A A meeting set for April 18 and 19. An arrangements committee will be named.

Bandits Take $5,000 From Missouri Bank

Armed bandits blew open the First National bank in Sarcoxie Mo during an early morning raid. They escaped in a car after an exchange of shots that wounded a local man named Page who arrived first on the scene. The bandits secured about $5,000 in cash.

Arrest of Quanah Car Thief in Hardeman County Hold

D. O. Jones, wanted at Quanah for car theft, was arrested in the northwest section of the city yesterday by Deputy Sheriff Harve Edwards of Hardeman county with assistance from Constable Allen S. Johnson. He was returned to Quanah last night.

McKinley Ward School to Add Unit at $125,000

McKinley Ward school board approved plans for an addition costing about 125000. Architects Rittenberry and Carder designed a large cafeteria 11 classrooms and an auditorium for 400. Construction contracts set to be let on Friday April 11. Decision on Bivins addition grade school deferred to a later meeting.

Giant DO X seaplane to tour North America this summer

The Do X giant seaplane, with capacity for 180 passengers, plans a transatlantic flight from Constance to New York this July. It would stop at Barcelona, the Azores, and Bermuda, flown by a six member crew and a reduced 56 passenger list to allow extra fuel for long legs. The trip totals about 4770 miles with an estimated 50 hour flight time.

Road Accident Near Canadian Fatal to Mrs Tennison

Mrs. M. A. Tennison 65 of Plymouth Collingsworth County died in Canadian hospital from injuries after a Canadian Perryton road crash Tuesday evening. The car tumbled into a ditch. She suffered a head injury leading to cerebral hemorrhage. Mr. Tennison was not seriously hurt. Remains to be taken to Plymouth for funeral services and interment.

Tough Breaks For Bandits At West Alexandria Bank

Two robbers held up the First National bank in West Alexandria Ohio asking for money. Charles Draper receiver and a neighbor cashier spoke calmly noting the bank had been broke for a year with no cash. The men found only dust and odor, then left with their guns.

Twelve Miners Die in Gas Blast at Yukon Mine WV

Twelve miners perished in a gas explosion at the Yukon mine of Crown Coal in Arnettsville West Virginia. Nineteen men were in the mine. seven escaped. Vernon transfers hold for Virgil Stalkup in robbery case

Virgil Stalkup an Amarillo youth facing up to 30 years for alleged role in a suburban grocery robbery was moved from Potter county jail to Vernon to stand trial on similar charges. He was identified in Vernon hijackings and released to Vernon Sheriff Rheay. Jim Talley, charged with Stalkup here and in Vernon, escaped from jail about a month ago.

Prison guard beaten by inmates at Huntsville prison

In Huntsville Texas prison officials investigated an alleged beating of former guard Jess Randell who says four convicts attacked him after his arrest. Randell described five blows with a leather strap and a stick as he was stripped and placed on a wet blanket.
