The Farm and Home special train from Santa Fe and A. and M. College arrived ahead of schedule at Amarillo Friday afternoon. Nine cars opened to the public for three hours drew over 2,000 visitors including college students 4-H members and local officials. The train then moved on to Stratford and Dumas after viewing the Canadian River.

Colorful career of W. H. Holmes ends with death in California
W. H. Holmes, 53, longtime Amarillo resident and oil operator, died in Covina California after a throat infection. Born near Wellington Kansas and later a Utah druggist, he spent 13 years in Alaska as a gold miner and government official. He helped launch Hutchinson County's first oil producer and held extensive leases in Nevada and Texas before his death. Funeral services in Los Angeles will precede cremation and burial on Alaskan soil.

Two men in an automobile forced Stratford paymaster Adams’s car into a ditch north of Dalhart and robbed him of 900 dollars. They bound him with wire in a field and fled after making him walk about 300 yards. He was found later as police began a search.

Two destitute occupants a 73 year old man and his 46 year old daughter, found in a Cleveland Street house, were deemed insane after a county sanity hearing. They were starved, living in a bare, unsanitary home with a burning gas stove and no food or water.
