Third suspect held in Albuquerque murder for hire case

A third suspect, Lawrence Kocher, was jailed on a Des Moines murder warrant in connection with the shooting death of an Albuquerque woman tied to a suspected murder for hire ring. The victim's husband Marion King is detained in Des Moines and Billy Joe Armenta was arrested in Fort Worth.

Hereford Man and Daughter Die in Electrocution Incident

A Hereford man Russell Jack Harrell age 44 and his 9 year old daughter Roxanne were electrocuted while installing aluminum irrigation pipe in a field. The death occurred about 7 30 p m Sunday one mile northeast of Hereford. Police believe the father was electrocuted first and the girl may have tried to pull him away. Investigations by police and sheriff deputies were ongoing. Funeral services are pending with Gililland Watson Funeral Home.

Arab Warns Tension High

Aswan Egypt Foreign Minister Tsman Fahmi warned fighting could erupt in the Middle East after Henry Kissinger's failed peace mission to Egypt and Israel. He said the situation is very dim and that escalation is possible even as the UN Emergency Force buffer zone remains in place. He refused to specify actions beyond the force expiry on April 24, noting decisions will depend on circumstances. President Anwar Sadat spoke in a recent newspaper interview.

Possible Hue Refugee Queen Reported Missing Amid Hue Siege

Vietnam's 86 year old queen mother Hoang Thi Cuc was reported missing as North Vietnamese forces encircled Hue and fighting raged along the coast and in the central highlands. Refugees fled Hue toward Da Nang while ground troops searched for the queen and her relatives believed moving toward Da Nang.
