Three Die in Car Bus Collision Near Shamrock

Near Shamrock Texas on U S 66 a 1957 Oklahoma sedan crossed a divider and struck a Greyhound bus head on killing Dallas Gwyn Hall 49 of Borger and two women identified as Eva Roby and Alice Hardwick. Bus driver Howard Wayne Suttle 33 of Amarillo survived with minor injuries. Bodies were taken to Richardson Funeral Home.

Two Brothers Open Fire Wounding Woodward Store Victims

In Woodward Oklahoma two youths aged 12 and 10 shot and killed Floyd Blair 49 and wounded Adrian Wilson 22 during a daytime spree. Ed Kinney 47 was injured as officers used tear gas to capture the boys who fled via a cotton gin and home basement. Sheriff Hank White says juvenile delinquency charges will be filed after police surrounded the suspects and the family remained unreached.

Snow Brings Moisture to Panhandle and Surrounding Areas

Central Panhandle woke to snow as cool air met a low pressure system and moisture from New Mexico. Amarillo saw up to two inches on the ground with a total monthly moisture around 3.58 inches in Clarendon, while Dumas and Pampa reported lighter totals and several towns logged trace to .23 inches. Highs Sunday ranged from 37 to 50 in various locations with clouds and frigid start giving way to cooler trends.

Woman Finds Skeleton of Dead Man in Cluttered Chicago Flat

CHICAGO March 23 A 55 year old woman Teresa Janisch kept her strange life quiet until detectives forced entry into a second floor flat once home to Nicholas Craven who vanished about three years ago. Craven's skeleton lay wrapped on a sofa in a littered room as police sealed the scene and the coroner took notes. Neighbors recalled Craven lived there for 30 or 49 years. The building showed boarded windows and a steel front grate as investigators pursue the case now. Janisch spoke little English and refused to talk, with authorities noting Craven’s disappearance remains under investigation.
