Eight Autos Stolen Ends in Double Police Shootout
Four men were killed and one wounded in two confrontations with police as they chased stolen cars in Buffalo New York. An injured suspect escaped the hospital operating room climbing a fire escape while police hunted the remaining suspects. The gunfire began when officers signaled the fleeing car to halt and it crashed into a hydrant. Walter Krajewski is named among suspects.

Gun Victim In Canadian May Recovers After Husband Kills Self
Special to The News, Canadian, March 23. Mrs Inez Humphrey, shot in the breast by her husband Virgil Humphrey 42 then killed himself with the same weapon. Physicians say she has a good chance of recovery. Funeral services for Virgil Humphrey were held today at the Humphrey home. Mrs Humphrey was believed to be in serious condition when hospitalized but regained consciousness yesterday and described the shooting. Humphrey had been ill over a year and motive remains unclear. The incident occurred at the Humphrey residence.
