Fort Worth and Denver surveys between Amarillo and North Plains signal a northern realignment to cross the Canadian River near Petter County, linking to the present main line. At Tepica Nayarit March 2 Captain Critobal Domina reports the capture of Ignacio Arias bandit leader and alleged killer of a postal clerk murdered March 12. Arias was dispatched to the southern Nayarit region last week to quell banditry. He is wanted for a long list of crimes and a summary court martial is anticipated.
Pampa officials report a rapid population rise in three weeks. The City Council ordered a new water well and invited bids for a municipal building to serve as storerooms and offices. Four rooming houses and two large hotels are planned as Gray County oil field growth accelerates. Mayor I F Heid and conservative Mr Reid note an active boom and a Chamber of Commerce meeting space in the new building.

Six portable 10,000,000 cubic feet per day units will be rushed here to begin operation within 30 to 45 days while the main plant is built. The big plant’s exact site is to be chosen in the field center to optimize pipelines and rail access.
The Santa Fe Railroad has secured part of the Burnett ranch for a proposed Panhandle oil field road. E W Clark of the Burnett estate said he closed a deal for the right-of-way, pending interstate commerce commission permit.
