Eddie McBride 23 of Havertown Pennsylvania died from a head wound in Tampa hospital. Gavin is charged with first degree murder. Both students at Florida Southern College a Methodist institution designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

The 27-year-old Dexter Avenue Baptist pastor faced a $500 fine plus $500 court costs under Alabama antiboycott law. Defense lawyers announced an appeal potentially reaching the U S Supreme Court.

A man wearing a full false disguise robbed a bank teller, presenting a note demanding $10,000 and warning not to look on either side. The teller laughed at the phantom robber, who fled the scene.

Lt. James Jordan 24 of Borger bailed from a smoke filled F100 Super Sabre after engine flameout at Foster Air Force Base. A helicopter pilot spotted his chute and tracked him to a farm landing nine miles east of Edna. He was on a routine flight.
In San Antonio on March 22, Attorney General John Ben Shepperd was struck in the face by attorney Maxwell Burkett during a break in a veterans land case in Criminal District Court. Burkett’s attack came as Shepperd, smoking a cigar, stood in the reception room. no injury was reported. Green Jr. staff restrained Burkett. Burkett accused Shepperd of immunity promises to three clients tied to abatements in the veterans' land program scandals.
