Washington March 22 The Federal Power Commission backs legislation to end federal price regulation of natural gas at the production level. Chairman Jerome K Kuykendall told the House Interstate Commerce Committee four of five members support a bill by Rep. Oren Harris. The commission says regulation should not extend to production gathering and processing levels.
Senator Humphrey urged a Senate investigation to find who leaked the Yalta conference papers. He questioned the security in the State Department while Senator Johnson accused the publication of being a maneuver against the Democrats. The debate followed leakage rumors about Roosevelt Stalin and Churchill talks.
Washington dispatch reports that the administration delayed clarity on Senator George's proposal for a Big Four conference with Russia. The White House and State Department avoided public dispute as President Eisenhower prepared to address reporters, while Senator Knowland reiterated his opposition after a White House meeting.

New York March 22 The official verdict on the Saik polio vaccine will be announced April 12. Dr Thomas F Francis Jr of the University of Michigan will disclose how well the vaccine prevents paralytic polio at a conference in Ann Arbor. Francis heads the team analyzing results from trials involving nearly two million children.
Yesterday's high rose to 65 while the low fell to 12 as a trough along the Rockies shifted winds to the southwest. Warmer air moved in on the ground and aloft, initiating a warming trend that should continue for the next few days with a high around 70 and some high cloudiness.
Weather note from Amarillo reports sun on 73 of 81 days in 1955. Comparative readings at 3 PM yesterday show clear skies and light winds in Houston Dallas Oklahoma City and Amarillo with visibility around 15 miles in each location.

In Amarillo and vicinity expect increasing cloudiness and wind with a warmer Wednesday turning colder by Wednesday night. Thursday will be partly cloudy and cooler with a low around 33 and a high near 70. West Texas remains fair and windy, turning colder in the Panhandle late Wednesday, with further cooling Thursday, and little or no rain anticipated.
The Supreme Court set the week of April 11 for arguments on methods to end racial segregation in public schools. Justice Robert H. Jackson had died, delaying proceedings, and Judge John Marshall Harlan will join the bench. The cases involve South Carolina Virginia Delaware Kansas and the District of Columbia. The court had ruled last May that segregated schools violated the Constitution and now debates implementation.
City Commission authorizes $760000 in water revenue bonds to finish paying for water rights covering 102000 acres in Hartley and Dallam Counties. Bonds mature in one to ten years at 3.44 percent, total principal and interest to retire $900000 due. Initial $124795 paid. sellers include Mrs. O V Beck and others. Also approves 30000 gallons gasoline bid at 15.55 cents per gallon from Phillips Petroleum and notes no bus routing decision for San Jacinto merchants. Amarillo Air Terminal reports February net revenue of $439.
A Navy R6D four engine transport crashed into Mount Heleakala near Honolulu after takeoff for California. The disaster killed 66 aboard including 9 crew from the Navy 17 Air Force personnel 22 Army men 12 Marines and 4 Navy. The aircraft reportedly turned back at Hickam Field due to radio trouble.
DoD listed Mrs. Betty J. Britt as next of kin for S. Sgt. William E. Britt who was killed in a crash. No trace of Sgt. Britt or his mother was found at 600 Florida or in city directories. The Florida address owner recalled no such resident.
On Pali Kea ridge in Oahu ground crews fought to reach the Navy transport plane wreckage where 66 people perished. Debris and oil covered the slope, engines lay distant from the fuselage, flames burned after impact, rain began, and one dog tag was found among the charred remains.
