Russell Parl a Santa Fe truckman was run over by an engine on the Santa Fe tracks about 17 o'clock last night. He died around 3 hours later at St Anthony's hospital. He was 30, a widower with a five year old son and lived with his brother BE J Patton at 300 Wells street. The body was moved to Kable undertaking. Funeral plans not set. Also notes the Lighthouse Gospel Mission opening with services at 11 am and 3 pm at 609 East Fourth Street led by H Frank Cockran, Superintendent.
Two telegrams say Houston Taylor and Mrs M W Emon received news their brothers Snedo J Taylor and Kutch of the 134rd Field Artillery 5th Division landed at Newport News Thursday. Taylor plans to go to Camp Bowie and may be demobilized there early April. Houston Taylor will meet his brother in Dallas on the 12th, then return to join his brother in business. Lemons, formerly with Letion Grain and Coal, will resume his position on return.
