Chicago officials report 12000 pounds of horsemeat stored as beef tenderloin seized March 10. Robbed of 2 Cars Within One Week

Frank Rierson an automobile dealer faced a double theft within seven days with one car taken from his used car lot and another from a street parking spot. Police traced one car to Miami Oklahoma where it was abandoned and the other to Eldorado Arkansas where the driver was arrested.

Two Years for Hoskins in Jail Break

Dwight Hoskins 21 was found guilty in 47th District Court of aiding in the November 23 1949 Potter County jail break and sentenced to two years in the penitentiary. The case ties to an earlier pistol slaying and the judge will decide if terms run concurrently or consecutively. Hoskins testified he aided in the escape due to threats against his baby daughter.

Texas oil proration boosts April allowable to over two million barrels

The Railroad Commission ordered a 130 376 barrel daily increase in Texas crude oil allowable for April raising total crude output to 2 088 722 barrels per day after 17 producing days in March. The April cap adds 300 647 barrels daily for natural gasoline and distillate bringing total liquids to 2 389 369 barrels per day. A proration hearing is set for April 14 in Austin.

Amarillo felt 54 mile per hour gusts as a cold front moved through yesterday. Dust cut visibility to three quarters of a mile at the air terminal before winds eased to 35 to 40 miles per hour and later 35 miles per hour. No major damage reported. a few people had dust in their eyes.
