Morgan Missing On Berlin Raid After Medal Heroic Flight

Lt. John Cary Morgan, Medal of Honor recipient for steering a crippled bomber home during a Hannover raid, is missing after a Berlin raid. His vessel burst into flames and dived. navigator Lt. Walter M. Haynes reported the crash. Morgan and co pilot fought to regain control while gunners were unconscious and the communications system failed. Sgt. Tyre Weaver lost an arm in the same mission but survived as a prisoner of war.

Campbell Trial Opens in Dallas

Ralph H. Campbell of Amarillo faced burglary charges in Dallas tied to May thefts from Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Miller.
