Army chief brings in a reputed Indian murderer to a bluff, with authorities claiming a decisive capture. Local forces reported the operation as a success, detailing the arrest and initial charges against the suspect.
General Hugh Scott arrived at Bluff Utah with Tse-Ne-Cat the Pinto an Indian wanted for murder and Old Polk father of Tse-Ne-Cat Chief Posey and another relative. A posse pursuit met armed resistance, one deputy and two Indians were killed before retreat into the hills.

Philadelphia police arrest a New York man identified as Liebman after he admitted throwing two children from a fifth floor window of a tenement. One child died and the other was seriously injured. He said he did it because he was tired of supporting them.
