Military Replaces Argentine Leaders

Buenos Aires March 19 AP Argentine military chiefs ordered generals to replace civilian governors in five provinces where Peronists won in Sundays elections. Arturo Frondizi announced interventors would supervise affected regions as Peronists warned of nationwide strike and possible violence. Canyon farmer told to repay 689.04 for over seeded wheat

J Evetts Haley Jr of Canyon Oklahoma must pay 689.04 to the federal government for over seeded wheat in the 1960 61 crop. The ASCS Review Committee of Sequoyah County ruled against him after hearings in 1961 and 1961. Haley plans to appeal to the U S District Court while seeking the Texas agriculture commissioner seat.

Grass fire near NW 20th burns two sections of land

A spark from an earlier grass fire ignited tinder dry grass in the 2000 block of NW 20th Monday night, burning nearly two sections before firefighters stopped it near St. Francis Ave. Winds rose from 20 to 29 mph, and land owned by the American Smelting and Refining Co. was affected. A Carver High student alerted responders, with additional trucks dispatched to prevent spread toward Lee Bivins land.

Solon Claims Loans Stalled Over Budget Maneuver
