Bomb threat evacuates Texas state capitol
A husky voiced caller warned of a bomb in the capitol, prompting Walter Schaefer, the House sergeant at arms, to notify the Department of Public Safety and capitol guards. The west wing and then the entire four story building were evacuated after the call about 12 45 p m.

Fire at Liberal Beechcraft Plant Destroys Upholstery Shop
A mid afternoon blaze at Beechcraft Muskeeteer plant in Liberal Kansas destroyed a 40 000 square foot machine shop and upholstery area and caused 20000 in losses. Winds hampered flames and five fire units spent an hour and a half bringing the fires under control. A second building housing Kids Inc athletic center and a warehouse also burned with 150000 in damages. Hydrants were frozen slowing efforts.
