North Dakota voters gave President Coolidge a two to one edge over Hiram Johnson with 100 precincts reporting statewide. Coolidge led 7,059 to 3,436 with La Follette at 1,428. later totals across 82 precincts showed 2,920 for Coolidge, 1,824 for Johnson, and 499 for La Follette. In Bismarck, Coolidge led 971 to 498 over Johnson and La Follette 226. In Washington, the House passed a soldier bonus bill 355 to 54, with debates on cash payments and endorsements to veterans. The bill maxes at about 2.12 billion over 20 years, funded without new taxes, with initial year costs up to 15 million.

Paroled convict confesses to double murder in Linden
John Vetoski, a paroled convict, admitted to the slayings of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Whalley and Mrs. George Morse in Linden last week. Police said the Whalleys were shot in their home while Mrs Morse, a grocer's wife visiting the couple, was beaten to death with an axe handle.

Plane crash near Willow Break kills parachutist
Mildred Bennett a 22 year old parachute jumper from Hardiner Kansas died when the airplane piloted by I M McConaughty from Lakin Kansas and owned by sailor Jack Lewis crashed into a willow break near Dermott Arkansas during an Arkansas City to Lake Village flight. McConaughty and Lewis were injured. Bennett died instantly from a broken neck.

The Northwest Texas Hospital in Potter county opens to the public today and tomorrow from 3 to 10 PM during the Northwest Texas Medical association meeting. A dedicatory service is planned tomorrow night with Dr. Herbert W. Virgin and county judges speaking. The hospital, including a tubercular ward and nurse home, was funded by a $250,000 bond issue and cost about $140,000 to erect, with Maynie Carter named superintendent and a staff of graduate RNs.
