Rail Commission Workers Cited for Seizing Books

District Judge W L Thornton cited four Texas railroad commission employees for contempt for allegedly taking possession of books and records of Texas Cities Gas Co in El Paso. The contempt followed a February 18 injunction and a March 8 continuation barring the commission from handling books of Lone Star Gas subsidiaries and from rate hearing actions.

Tanks of Hot Oil Continue To Burn Kilgore Oil Fire

Two tanks of about 2700 barrels of confiscated crude oil caught fire midafternoon and were still burning at night in Kilgore. The oil, worth roughly 20 cents a barrel due to low gravity, was part of 6192 barrels seized by the state in February 1937 as property of W. D. Lacy and stored there since.
