Proposals Outlined for City Water Delivery Costs
The Amarillo city commission heard two definite plans to deliver water at under 10 cents per thousand gallons. Layne and Bowler favor wells west of the Word ranch with a 30 inch line to supply 10 million gallons, plus a 2 cent pumping cost. the Weiland plan uses a dam at the Word ranch with an 80 inch line to deliver 7.6 million gallons with total 6.27 cents per thousand. A third plan from Edwards Well Co proposes an 80 inch line for 10 million gallons at 2.6 cents per thousand, with engineering only by Weiland.

Fort Worth March 16 The grand jury returned an indictment charging Jim Thomas 22 of Saginaw with murder in the death of Mary Bentley 14 during a joy ride last month An additional indictment charges him with theft of an automobile on February 16 The victim was found unconscious under an overturned car on the Kenne dale road Statements by John Beckley 15 G B Ard 16 and Hazel Pinney 16 supported claims that Thomas beat Bentley and that the accident was staged Ard later recanted while Pinney and Beckley stood by their statements

Dixon Creek No 2 Producing 2000 Barrels Daily
Flowing more than 2000 barrels a day the Dixon Creek No 2 well in Hutchinson county is the biggest in the Panhandle oil field. It cleaned out Sunday morning and produced 570 barrels in five hours. The Dixon Creek company has planned several new locations and will have four or five wells under way within ten days.
