Delray Beach Florida March 15 Prince Serge Mdivani aged 33 former husband of Pola Negri and Mary McCormick and brother of Barbara Huttons former husband was killed in a polo accident near here today according to reports.
Former wife dies ten minutes after his pony kicks him in the head following a crash on the Gulf Stream polo field. The prince’s third wife Louise Astor Van Alen and his sister-in-law Alexis rush to his side as he collapses. Two physicians say death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage. An inhalator was used.
Fresno. Republican assembly delegates debated withdrawing the party’s approval of sending an uninstructed delegation to the national convention. The meeting considered Landon Borah and a third option, with Landon named as a possible candidate but not yet in primaries.
A head on collision four miles south of Jacksonville Texas left three dead and a fourth critically injured. The deceased were D L Sutton 44 Arvel Ocis Johnston 24 and R E Starkey 22 all of Jacksonville. Felvin Yarborough 29 of Dialville was critically injured and T C Fhalbert 53 of Dialville sustained severe cuts and abrasions.
Columbus dispatches show Ohio’s industrial and agricultural mix shaping a May 12 primary. The contest pits New Deal support against liberal Republicans and party regulars while Roosevelt’s 52 delegates are assured despite the Breckinridge clash in the presidential preference vote.

Athens Texas March 15 Twenty eight year old Jess Sweeten Texas youngest sheriff filed four murder charges against George Patton 54 year old farmer in slaying of J W McGehee 25 his wife Clarice 21 and their two children Boyle 4 and Bobbie 2. The bones found in a shallow grave provided corpus delicti.
In Madrid on March 15 the army issued an ultimatum to Premier Azana demanding actions to curb violence by left and right factions. Clashes in Logrono left at least 11 dead and 40 wounded as fires hit convents churches rightist centers and a newspaper before troops repelled attackers at the barracks.
A dust storm rolled into Amarillo around 9 30 at night driven by gusty north winds up to 40 mph and reduced visibility to zero. Railroad dispatchers and airport observers reported a vast silt cloud rising thousands of feet, as scientists and government officials describe a new frontier of dust and ongoing battles against the Dust Bowl.

Richard A. Sneed of Oklahoma City former commander in chief of the Confederate Veterans of America and former secretary of state and state treasurer of Oklahoma died at his son’s Lawton home. He was 90 and died of a paralytic stroke. Sneed was known as the grand old man of Oklahoma democracy and held national and state offices across a long career beginning as secretary of state at age 7. He was born in 1845 in Mississippi and joined the Confederate army at 15.
AAA officials announce a 500 million soil conservation program with field operations to start after Thursday deadline. The plan defines subsidy conditions, payment rates, and which crops qualify, with cotton potentially paid at five to six cents a pound. Farmers to form state county and community committees as details roll out this week.
Springfield Colorado March 15 a large search party including CCC workers and volunteers combed dust swept plains near Two Buttes for three year old Billy Benson son of Mr and Mrs E W Benson who wandered from home during a dust storm and was not found by nightfall authorities said.

Building Tender Dewitt McKinney and two assistants suffer head injuries as inmates wield bottles and benches. Guards fire into the ceiling in an attempt to quell the melee.
Thousands of union elevator operators and building service workers began returning to work after a two week strike that disrupted 2400 buildings. A compromise reemployment plus arbitration of wages and hours was announced after a 15 hour conference. James J Bambrick called the settlement a great victory.
Esteban Lambrano, 67, a pioneer landowner, was shot to death near the Henry DeVoto residence in the Lower Valley. Deputy sheriffs arrested DeVoto, 24, who admitted the slaying in a voluntary statement, claiming self defense amid a 14 year ownership dispute.
In Laredo Texas Miss Bella Orozco was killed when the returning truck overturned after a dance. Her sister Guadalupe was gravely injured and six others were hurt. Driver Juan Leila is jailed on negligent homicide charges.
