Hall Guilty of Bribery Extortion Scheme
Former Oklahoma Governor David Hall and Dallas financier W W Taylor were convicted on multiple counts of extortion and bribery conspiracy in a three week federal trial. Hall sought a $50 000 payoff to use influence on a state retirement fund board to steer a $10 million investment to Taylor’s Dallas firm. Rogers testified Hall offered to split the money and federal tapes captured conversations. Hall faces up to 35 years in prison. Taylor up to 15 years.
