A heavy snow storm returns winter to Texas forcing school closures and hazardous driving from the New Mexico border to Central Texas. The Henry Henderson family of Conway learns their daughter Sharon, three, is safe in Grants New Mexico with her kidnapper Carolyn Beck nineteen. The child was abducted Tuesday afternoon in cold conditions and found Wednesday afternoon. the family flew to Albuquerque to join her and expressed relief and forgiveness toward the abductor.
The Amarillo Livestock Auction Co. broke its record with 1 500 cattle more than the previous week. About 3 500 head sold Wednesday and the three day total reached 13 500 as buyers from across cattle feeding states including Ohio attended the sale led by co owner E B Johnson.
