Washington dispatch reports Congressman R Q Lee of Texas 16th district near death in an emergency hospital after a paralysis stroke three days ago. Doctors say his condition is very serious as his family stays at his bedside. Lee, 61, is in his first Congress term, elected without opposition in 1928, and is a well known Amarillo Panhandle figure who led regional business efforts and promoted the cow sow and hen campaign.

Wife shoots husband over 15 cent bill in Fort Worth
In Fort Worth on March 14, T. B. Thompson a 64 year old farmer was shot and killed by his wife after a long quarrel over a 15 cent fee. Mrs Thompson 53 says he grabbed her and threatened violence before she fired. The couple had been married 31 years and lived on the CG B Team farm a mile north of the city.
