A sixth Touhy gangster, Charles Ice Wagon Conners, was killed by gunfire by a roadside ditch in Chicago. Investigators linked the murder to a feud with former Touhy allies over aid to outlaws facing legal trouble. Connors, 54, held a fortune from a $110,000 Charlotte mail robbery but did not assist Basil Banghart or the Factor kidnaping defendants. Police quoted Chief Shoemaker noting Connors refused to dig for the trial.

In Marlin district court on March 13 two witnesses identified Irvin Blackie Thompson as one of two men who robbed the First State Bank of Marlin on December 27, 1933, stealing 410,000 and threatening to blind the victims. Thompson and W. J. Walker are linked to the Fisherman Three group. Walker and Thompson faced related indictments and prior escapes from an Oklahoma prison.

Woman and son die in home fire near Picher
