Texan lawmakers Sen. Bob Gammage and Rep. Fred Agnich propose a November 1976 referendum on dividing Texas into five states. Fairchild Camera & Instrument Co says its Navajo Reservation plant will close after eight days of occupation by armed Indians. The takeover began February 24 and ended March 3 after negotiations. About 473 Navajos worked there. 140 had been laid off since the occupation.
A House Foreign Affairs subcommittee voted 4 to 3 to back $135.6 million in emergency aid to Cambodia under conditions that place Ford in charge of peace efforts with Communist rebels. The move follows Democratic caucus opposition to extending aid and sets monthly installments of 45.2 million with 20 million for military aid and up to 7.5 million in U.S. stocks from South Vietnam.
A Dallas grocer filled a 440 pound lobster tail order for a banquet that never happened. A hotel employee denied ordering, and the invoice signer was unrecognized. The $2,100 bill alarmed the grocer after the pickup.
Secretary Kissinger weighed a general statement by Egypt and Israel urging neighbors not to settle disputes by war. Sadat refused a nonbelligerency pledge while Israeli forces held land in Sinai. A possible Cairo Jerusalem accord aimed to ease impasse and outline war not the solution.

Chairman Church says no White House indication of cooperation yet while Tower expects possible compliance. Colby says he and Church will consult on sensitive data as inquiries into CIA activities proceed.
