Two Bodies Found North Texas Mystery Deepens
Fort Worth authorities investigated two deaths found within minutes of each other on March 11. Leon Smith 21 an employee at Fort Worth Steel and Machinery was found near the old Cleborne road south of the Baptist seminary. A hat identified as his lay beside the body along with an unidentifiable cap. Autopsy scheduled and inquest to follow. Dewey Lacy a teamster died with a crushed head found in a stable at 7 35 am by R E Turner. Police reported murder but detectives were unsure, suspect possible mule stepping. Detectives Regan Defoe and Bush investigated Turner owns the stable and hires Turner as excavator.

Murder charge filed in San Angelo as flames of tragedy rise
Newt Burns, a chauffeur, was charged with murder after the bodies of Mrs J W Juergen, her daughter Myrna about 12, and Mrs Juergen's mother were found decomposed at their locked home. The discovery came when flies swarmed a window and a neighbor alerted police. Burns was last seen March 6 after borrowing two dollars from neighbor Hugh Allen. The Juergens and Burns had moved to the area four years ago from Pittsburgh with the Big Lake Oil company.
