Boy Shoots Father To Protect Mother
In Logansport Indiana on March 9 a 13 year old boy Donald Gene Sisson shot and killed his father John R Sisson 52 to protect his mother. The family said the father had threatened his wife with a shotgun and had been drinking. The boy fired four times with a 22 rifle and a shotgun during the struggle. He was not held for charges and was said to be detained for insanity last year.

Fires Sweep Two Hotels For 475 Guests Escape Uninjured
AP reports 475 guests fled two hotels in York Pennsylvania and Gary Indiana as fires gutted parts of the Colonial Hotel and Lake Hotel. In York about 175 escaped from four floors of the Colonial Hotel with no injuries reported. Damages were pegged at up to 250000 at the York site and 125000 at street-level stores. In Gary 300 guests evacuated a wing of the Lake Hotel with total damage around 200000. Red Cross aided displaced residents and clothing for those left with little.

Ryan To Face Murder Charge
Cecil Ryan 38 faces murder charges to be filed tomorrow morning Sheriff Stout said. He is accused of fatally stabbing his wife and slashing his 14 year old stepson Tommy Giles near the jugular vein. Young Giles is reported to be recovering rapidly. The stabbing occurred at Lewis Kinnison’s Dalhart home where Mrs Ryan and Tommy recently moved from the Ryans’ previous residence. Mrs Ryan is survived by her father Jim C Greer and sister Mrs Albert Uchner of Cheyenne. Funeral services are set for 2 PM tomorrow at Blackburn Shaw Chapel with Clayton Cemetery burial.
