Joaquin Texas March 8 Elijah Blankenship 23 was found dead early today in a wrecked automobile near Logansport. The smashed car with one wheel off was in a ditch near a bridge head. Funeral services for Blankenship will be held tomorrow.

Greta Garbo announced she would travel from Gothenburg to New York en route to Hollywood.
METZ France March 8 Alsace and Lorraine echoed to marching feet and rumbling trucks as France moved reinforcements to Rhineland fortifications. Officials say about 50 000 troops have left Metz Thionville and other garrisons since Paris ordered additional forces to back up the frontline.

Claude Ox Blanton a 30 year old former University of Texas football star died from burns received when his clothing ignited while he burned stumps at his home in Longview He survived by his wife and one child and had worked in the state comptroller s department Blanton who was disabled from the hips down and whose right hand was badly burned was a former standout of UT and served as vice president of the East Texas Coaches and Officials Association.
