Phillips Petroleum Company paid 66 cents a pound for the grand champion steer named Jimmie at Amarillo’s Fat Stock Show. The sale averaged 10.94 per hundred for 110 lots, the highest in years, with Dorothy Smith, 16, earning 595 dollars from Phillips for her junior steer.

Mrs. John Seeley Caldwell testified in Bryan Texas today about threats that “others of the gang would get her” if she identified the three men in the December 14 robbery of the Caldwell jewelry store. W M Lightfoot 73 died after his truck collided with an automobile driven by Mrs. W R Boone four miles north of Snyder on Highway 7. Boone rushed Lightfoot to Snyder where he died. Survived by widow and two sons Ed of Lubbock and two daughters Madie Brady of Lubbock and Vera Wright of Amarillo. All five from Lubbock were en route to East Texas for hardwood.
Washington March 8 A complete reorganization of all mail carriers whose contracts were cancelled will be demanded by the administration if those lines seek to carry the mail again. Congressional committees and post office officials push toward enactment of Roosevelt recommendations for returning the business of flying the mail to private carriers.
