Goldfield Nevada March 8 Fred Purnham of Butte shot his partner Pvt Lavelle a miner at the Overmont claim and then killed himself.

Weynesboro Va March 8 Mrs Harriett Wildman Oft ages 100 today a lifelong Greene County Pennsylvanian. She spun yarn and knitted hosiery for descendants across the fifth and sixth generations. Eleven children eight living with 341 descendants including seventy grandchildren 209 great grandchildren fifty three great great grandchildren and one great great great grandchild. Four sons served in the Civil War. Despite giving up spinning she still knits and has never worn spectacles.

Sherman Texas Marek S Cecil A Lyon chairman of the Republican State Executive Committee said the Terrell election issue delayed a full opinion from the Attorney General's office. The committee will recess daily until the opinion arrives and then announce the convention date.
Jim Minter received four years imprisonment after admitting a $20 bribe to two Dallas policemen. He sought their aid to wink at a saloon outside the district where bars are allowed. The bribe was paid about a year ago.
