Hutchinson County Grand Jury Indicts 29 on Drug Charges
The Hutchinson County Grand Jury indicted 29 persons for sale of marijuana and amphetamines. Eighteen were arrested Wednesday night. warrants issued for 11 others. Investigating agencies included Berger, Fritch, Stinnett police and the county sheriff with Texas DPS agents. Extradition may occur for out of state defendants.

The Guymon School Board accepted the resignations of two teachers effective at the end of the 1975-76 year. W. Robert Richardson vocational carpentry at Guymon High and Lois Meyer second grade at Northwest Elementary will leave. Nancy Muir junior high English received a leave to pursue graduate work at Central State University.

Guymon Firemen Battle Recurrent Grass Fires
Guymon Oklahoma firemen fought grass fires this week with high winds fanning flames from a burning trash pit. About 20 acres on a Phillips Petroleum oil lease burned in the first blaze. Firemen doused rekindled flames three hours later. Fire outbreaks also struck along the Rock Island right of way west of Guymon and south of the Phillips plant near the Texas border.

Clovis Personnel Bound for Germany Transfer Planned
Congressional sources say 237 military personnel and seven civilian employees from Cannon Air Force Base will move to Oldendorf West Germany to bolster radar control of European air traffic. The move, completed by end of 1976, reduces Cannon’s 609th Tactical Control Squadron to one flight. Also note Lockney Lions Club auction postponed to April with consignments still sought.

Lockney Hospital To Elect Directors
Prospective candidates for the Lockney Hospital District board positions must file nominating petitions by Monday. Two directors will be chosen in the April 3 election. Borger approves water sewer rate hikes and bonds
Borger city council raises water and sewer rates by about 30 percent for residents and 20 percent for sewer. The minimum water bill rises from 3 to 4 dollars and garden rates increase to 8.50 with higher per thousand gallon charges above 10 000. Sewer minimum up from 2 to 2.50 dollars and commercial sewer from 3.25 to 3.50. New tapping and meter fees range 150 to 400 dollars. The council also moves to a 3 0435 million capital program with a future 2 million revenue bond and 750 000 pay as you go improvements.
