HOLC Collections Show Increase Amid Economic Recovery

Federal Government Selling More Farms
The government reports it is now selling more farms than it acquires through loan defaults for the first time in a period of hardship. Farm Credit Administration head W S Myers notes improved credit and farm income, with 22 505 farms owned outright valued at 73 500 000, down from 24 355 farms valued at 78 200 000 in August. Sales by Federal Land Banks rose for three years, totaling 35 200 000 last year, 28 000 000 in 1935, and 17 600 000 in 1934.
