Safflower Oil Mill Planned in Texas Panhandle

Safflower Oil Corporation of Boulder and the Texas Farmers Union announce a 500000 dollar oil mill to be built in the Texas Panhandle. Starting March 16 officials will sign contracts for 20000 acres of safflower for seed with bids from Stratford Hereford Lockney Littlefield and Olton. The plant will run 24 hours daily with over 50 workers and process 200 tons of seed daily, location to be determined. A guaranteed $62 per ton price is offered this year for growers, with expected annual yield about three quarters of grain sorghum placed for future processing.

A young blonde robber struck First National Bank of Nevada in Las Vegas and fled by bus toward Reno with $1,761 recovered later. The teller described a champagne blonde who handed a note demanding 8 000 dollars. The suspect claimed to be Ida Belle Ingram, 19, of Roanoke Virginia.

E Way Work Leaps Ahead on Amarillo Expressway

Amarillo Expressway construction has resumed at full pace from Canyon Hill to Bell Avenue after delays caused by Texas right of way acquisitions. St Louis Symphony Concert Tonight Leads With Van Remportel

Tonight at 8 15 the St Louis Symphony conducts in the Municipal Auditorium with Belgian conductor Edouard Van Remportel arriving to lead the orchestra. Officials from the Amarillo Symphony meet him at the airport as the 100 member group travels from Dallas in three chartered buses for the appearance.
