They will cover all financial obligations and run the center on its current basis, with memberships honored and programs likely expanded. Kilgore directs the center. Detton, a wrestling promoter and youth booster, joins as operator. The Kiwanis official notes the initiative removes about 1300 dollars monthly from club duties, including a 240 dollar loan payment, utilities, and salaries.
Mrs Mimi Underwood formerly of Amarillo is in a San Francisco hospital in critical condition after complications from an operation earlier in the week. Last night she showed a slight improvement, according to word received here.
Weather outlook shows considerable cloudiness and milder temperatures in Amarillo today. West Texas expects little change in temperature with highs near 64 and lows around 49 to 52. The five day forecast from March 6 to 11 calls for temperatures 1 to 4 degrees below normal, with colder conditions Saturday and Sunday and warmer by Tuesday, and little or no precipitation.

A central party and government communiqué announced wide government reshuffles including Molotov back as foreign minister Vishinsky shifted to UN post Gromyko to New York Beria as interior minister and head of security Shilov named Presidium chair Bulganin named defense minister.
The White House refused to comment on Georgi Malenkov as chairman of the Soviet Council of Ministers. Press Secretary James C. Hagerty told reporters there was no comment on the latest action by the Soviet leadership.
The funeral of Joseph Stalin is scheduled for Monday at noon Moscow time. The body will lie beside Lenin in Red Square before a future Pantheon is built to honor Soviet leaders and greats, with public access to the Pantheon once completed.

Funeral services for Mrs Dea Caldwell McLain Boswell, 34, of 914 Fannin Amarillo, will be held at 4 PM Saturday at Griggs Pioneer Chapel with a Christian Science reader officiating. Burial follows at Memorial Park. The victim, assistant manager at J W Hill Furniture, was shot by her estranged husband Staff Sgt Thomas F Boswell, 22, who died by a self-inflicted wound with the same pistol after the slaying.
The State Water Board approved creating a Canadian River district to fund a dam for municipal and industrial use. Amarillo to Tahoka cities would be taxed to finance construction pending Senate votes. Five interim directors will be appointed by the Board of Water Engineers with elections to follow after organized meetings and required public notices.
At 8 45 AM a parade forms at Amarillo Air Force Base parade grounds followed by a 11 00 AM Story Hour at the Public Library. An 8 00 PM gathering is planned at the Schnasters Club in the USO building.
The youngest bidder in the ring won the grand champion baby beef at the Amarillo Exposition and Fat Stock Show sale. Joe Batson bid $2 per pound and later offered it for resale to benefit two charities. The event featured Bullish bidding by Plains Chevrolet and Amarillo Packing Company, with Paula Bivins securing reserve champion calf and Rex Worrell of Clovis earning a grand champion pig.
