Amarillo city official Carl Dupriest said the commission should immediately dismiss Corporation Court Judge Connally Lockhart after a contempt of court ruling against Amarillo businessman M. H. Fitzpatrick. The judge earlier sentenced Fitzpatrick to 24 hours in jail for contempt, then released him on a habeas corpus writ. the contempt charge was later dismissed for lack of evidence.

Arizona relaxes its cattle embargo limiting dipping and health certification to cattle from Ochiltree and Hemphill counties in Texas.
