About 150 men from 19 counties attended a Hilton hotel gathering in Plainview to form an organization pushing new railways and branches across West Texas the South Plains and eastern New Mexico. A. J. Swenson was named permanent chairman with R. A. Underwood vice chairman and Maury Hopkins secretary. The plan includes expanding by building new lines and extensions.

Miller proprietor G. F. Miller of the Mil ler Pharmacy at Sixth and Florida streets was robbed at 10 50 pm by two masked youths in a colored Chevrolet coupe. They demanded money and took $38 from the cash register. One man showed a gun while the other stayed in the car. Miller can identify both suspects or their vehicle. He was forced to the rear of the store during the escape.
