In Washington the Senate unanimously seated Henry Bellmon of Oklahoma after a 47 to 46 vote to postpone indefinitely a resolution calling for a new election in the disputed 1974 Oklahoma Senate race. Judge Marvin Jones 94 died at Medi-Park Care Center after a long career in government service. A Amarillo native who spent years in Washington he helped craft farm relief laws and chaired the House Agriculture Committee.
