Rubinoff Violinist to Head Amarillo Matinee Friday

Amarillo area students may see Rubinoff and his violin in a 4 pm matinee at Municipal Auditorium for 25 cents. Sandie band led by Oscar Wise also performs. Rubinoff will pick three top student performers for medals. Tickets available at high schools. Friday night concert at 8:15 pm features pianist Alexander Makofka. Proceeds aid the Amarillo Symphony Orchestra.

Paris Factories Bombed by RAF Hits Nazi Production

British planes bombed air dromes and factories in suburban Paris for two hours, venting recent German exploitation of Renault Citroen and other plants. Turner to judge 12th Amarillo Fat Stock Show

Turner Jack Turner manager of Silver Creek Farms Fort Worth breeder known to Panhandle Hereford fraternity will judge the 12th annual Amarillo Fat Stock Show opening next Monday. He bred the all-American grand champion ball of 1941 sold for 12500 at Silver Creek Farms sale. He studied at Texas A and M and the school of experience.

Amarillo Chamber Luncheon Names Director Candidates

Doubled Income Tax Forecast By Morgenthau

Morgenthau outlined a broad tax program to hit every American home. The plan calls for doubling individual income taxes to about 90 percent on top rates, with rates from 16 to 90 percent and an equivalent rise in excises. It also seeks large increases in corporate taxes, estate and gift taxes, and new taxes on consumer items while pruning special privileges and deductions.
