Nye ruled the date valid as long as after the reprieve period. Chessman, once the red light bandit, has fought numerous appeals over 11 years on death row.

Funeral services set for 10 30 a m Saturday at Armstrong Flickinger Funeral Home Bakersfield with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. In Amarillo he was sales manager for Osborn Kemper and Thomas Advertising Co. He lived at 902 Philadelphia.
