Locomotive explosion injures two Amarillo railroad workers
Ernest Massey engineer and W F Turner fireman suffered serious steam burns when the Rock Island freight engine exploded after sideswiping a car in the Sanford yards about 5 30 yesterday afternoon. Both were taken to St Anthony's hospital with Massey in critical condition and Turner less severely burned. The engine operated by Guy Bennett with Harvey Williamson and John Robinson as brakemen. The incident halted traffic for hours while repairs were made.
