Clarence R. Tucker, Santa Fe trainmaster at Brownwood Texas, will become superintendent of the Southern division at Temple Texas effective July 1. Arthur B. Clements will succeed Tucker at Brownwood and Marshall M. Killen will take Clements’ Beaumont post. All three are veteran Santa Fe men.
Washington reports the Department of Agriculture recorded American cotton consumption at 10,091,000 bales for the past ten months, down 15 percent from the prior year. About 15,000,000 bales remain on hand after a record 18,945,022 bale crop last year and a 7,000,000 bale carryover in 1936. Exports for the ten months to July 31 totaled 5,227,000 bales, up 140,000 from the previous season.
R A Bob Stuart of Fort Worth, candidate for the railroad commission, will speak tonight at Municipal Auditorium in Amarillo after visits with oil men and merchants in Pampa and Borger. He plans more Panhandle stops and invites Potter County candidates to attend the rally.
Cleveland approves a $5,000,000 lottery to raise relief money for hunger relief. A five member committee may hold events in public hall and use proceeds to aid 60,000 relief clients with no regular food orders for over two months.
DE QUEEN Ark June 28 One of the quadruplets born yesterday to Mrs H T Valentine 27 year old farm wife died today. The four girls were delivered by Dr G L Kimball who said the other three appeared in good health and he expected them to live. They weighed from two and a half to two and three quarter pounds each.
President Roosevelt is expected to appoint a five member board to regulate commercial aviation before departing for the Pacific Coast on July 7. About 600 applicants have sought positions in the new agency created by a bill signed into law this week.

In Beaver Crossing Nebraska five year old Joan Rice secretly heated a toy stove with gasoline and a lit match causing an explosion that killed her. The tragedy occurred on June 28 and authorities report the child died today.
