Jail Fire Kills 43 in Maury County
A foam padded cell fire at the Maury County jail in Columbia Tennessee killed 43 inmates Sunday during visiting hours. Authorities say a 16 year old fugitive from Wisconsin set the fire possibly with a cigarette. Many prisoners and visitors were overcome by toxic gas and smoke. 70 were hospitalized or treated.
