Tornadolike Storm Damages Collingsworth Farms In Texas Panhandle

Weather ravaged the Lillie Salt Fork and nearby Collingsworth communities with twister like winds and heavy rain. At Lillie Barns were blown away and a chicken house collapsed killing 500 birds, while cotton fields were wiped out and young plants uprooted. O B White called the rain the worst in 43 years with an estimated 7 inch fall. A family gathering near Lillie endured a terrifying strike at 7 30 pm after a 2 pm alert.

Evicted Florida couple give seven children to adopters

William W. Harvey and his wife in Lake Worth say eviction forced them to hand over all seven children Billie 8, William Jr. 7, Edith 6, Virginia 5, Diana 4, John 2, and Tom 9 months to new families. Harvey cites poverty and a heart condition, hoping the children find stable care. The couple plans no immediate welfare move despite residency questions in Dade County.

Truck Driver Dies in Crash Near Borger

Earl Moon 38 of Gould Oklahoma was killed when his truck collided with a car driven by John Anderson 43 of Borger 12.3 miles north of Stinnett on the Stinnett Spearman highway Moon was thrown and pinned beneath the truck. Anderson survived with bruises and chest injuries. Anderson was taken to North Plains Hospital and Moon’s body was sent to Gould for funeral services.

Man Dies After 25-Foot Fall At Texas Refinery

June 21 in Dalss Houston man Ben Edward Heath, an employee of a local construction firm, was killed when he fell 25 feet from a scaffold while repairing an elevated tank at a Texas refinery.

Man Defends Self and Wins Acquittal in Texas Case
