W. A. Carter an auditor at 2002 Van Buren Street was charged with assault with intent to murder after the Lloyd H. Blankenship shooting on West Seventh Avenue near McKinley School. Carter posted $1,000 bond and was released from Potter County jail yesterday afternoon. Blankenship remained in Northwest Texas Hospital with a gunshot wound to the left hand. he thought the shooter appeared intoxicated and offered no clear motive.
