Electric Shock Fatal To Tower Climbing Sudan Youth
A 17 year old Sudan youth, Robert Edwin Drake Jr., died after slipping while climbing a water tower, brushing a 2,400 volt line, and falling about 40 feet. Witnesses saw sparks as he fell. cause of death listed as electric shock and chest injuries. Funeral services planned for Sunday at First Methodist Church with burial at Littlefield Memorial Park. Survivors include his parents and a sister.

Lake Meredith Levels Reach New Record Heights
Lake Meredith rose .20 feet between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Friday to a new record level of 82.90 feet. Officials from the Canadian River Water Authority said the rise slowed from .04 to .02 foot per hour as overflow at Ute Dam diminished. Hereford Woman Is Killed In Truck Crash
A Hereford housewife, 26, died when her pickup rear ended a Texas Highway Department loader truck six miles northwest of Hereford on Farm Road 1057. Her four children were injured, with two in serious condition. Cynthia Christine Baird, 7, and Stephanie Baird, 4, were hospitalized and treated for severe injuries. Melinda Gay Baird, 3, was listed as satisfactory with head lacerations. Bruce, 19 months, also received care.
