The Humble Oil and Refining Company plans to discontinue buying crude from Wichita Wilbarger Archer Carson Hutchinson Gray and Young counties effective July 1 due to excess supply. Producers were informed by notice dated June 4 1920 and organized producer groups are seeking data for a proration plan with the Railroad Commission to balance supply and demand.
Jack Reynolds of Cincinnati defended his welterweight crown in Amarillo at Butler Field, winning the first and third falls from Cal Farley in a two fall victory. The match drew about 8,000 fans, with Reynolds showcasing a leg split finisher and Farley using headlock and arm lock in a brisk second fall.

Federal officers raided a South Pampa drug store finding 141 pints of whiskey gin and rum. Ray Albritton was taken into custody and denied the charge. He was to be arraigned in Amarillo after a six week federal probe into bootleg activity. A room above the store yielded $6000 in gold certificates and travellers cheques.
R S Sterling chairman of the state highway commission launched his bid for the Democratic nomination in Houston. He argued the state should finance highways, ending local bond burdens and replacing county taxes with a statewide system, asserting his plan is not arbitrary despite his role as the "father" of statewide bonding.
Marie Shuffield of Pampa was released after serving 30 days and paying a $500 fine under the convict's oath provision. The law allows release for those unable to pay after 30 days of confinement. In Houston, June 20, R.8 Sterling planned a gubernatorial campaign debut with an anticipated 6000 attendees. Cone Johnson of Tyler will introduce him at the Huntsville event. Judge W. L. Dean, author of the Texas prohibition law, will preside.
William Isaac Whitsel prominent and wealthy cattleman of Canadian dies at his home at 5:45 PM. He is survived by his widow Mabel Whitsel. Funeral at the Canadian home Sunday with burial in Canadian cemetery. Born in Havre Iowa in 1862. Came to Texas in 1884 and lived in Canadian for 40 years as an old settler with many friends across Northwest Texas.
James F. Ferguson, speaking for his wife’s governor bid, voices strong opposition to the state round bond issue and targets Governor Dana Moody Ross Sterling and Thomas B. Love in a heated address in Cleburne.
Rand olph Field in Santone was dedicated before 20 000 people including army officers and officials from Cuba and Mexico. Major General James E Fecher announced 15 to 20 million dollars would be spent on the field. The 2 368 acre tract will host central facilities and 390 planes on takeoff. Upon completion the post will house 50 officers 500 flying cadets and 2 000 enlisted men plus families making about 4 000 people. First unit to move here from March Field is planned for 1931 with Brooks and Kelly Fields converted to auxiliary sites.

She describes McKee forcing them to travel from Breckenridge to Hobbs New Mexico, hiding after the shooting and claiming he had to kill. Emma Mayhall corroborates fears and injury from a prior car wreck.
143 carloads of grain arrived in Amarillo Friday according to John F. Ross Federal grain inspector Most cars carried new wheat with tests largely around 60 pounds and some reaching 63.5 yards of test weight Dry wheat showed especially strong results with tests near record levels.
A Texas state senator from Lubbock Pink Di Parrish withdrew from the Democratic nomination race for governor in the July primary and backed Clint C Small of Wellington. His supporters filed his name with party officials while he attended a shrine convention in Toronto, and he plans to issue a statement tomorrow explaining his reasons. Endorsing Small aims to consolidate anti road bond support among rival candidates.
Rome daily Piccolo demanded tightening of Italy tariff laws in response to Hawley Smoot tariffs on American goods. The paper argued U S activity would be seen as a logical consequence and noted American automobiles and other products could be produced by Italian industry.
