Waco trial begins as jurors eyed in Kit Branch Davidian lawsuit
Survivors and families of victims from the 1993 siege head to court as jury selection starts in the $675 million suit against the government. Plaintiffs claim government responsibility for about 80 deaths including 17 children, while prosecutors seek truth and accountability. The trial, likely four weeks, will tackle whether agents used excessive force, caused fires, or withheld firefighting equipment, and whether tank use violated the operations plan.
