Florida's Sen. Duncan A. Fletcher, 77, known as the "grand old man," died of a heart attack in Washington as he prepared to go to the Capitol. The Senate recessed in mourning. Truck Driver Dies of Burns in Highway Crash
Plainview June 17 Funeral services were held in Lubbock for Glenn Jacobs of Plainview who died from burns after a collision between his truck and an oil truck south of Plainview. Copeland, also from Plainview, is in a local hospital with severe burns. Passengers aided by Horace Simpson rushed the men to hospital. Jacobs survived by wife, parents, two brothers and two sisters. He moved to Plainview from Floydada four months ago.
