Old Glory marks 200th Birthday in Philadelphia ceremony

City officials marked the 200th anniversary of the American flag with the original resolution reading and a floral replica in Independence Hall. Flag Day events included a pageant of flags and a salute by 3,000 students at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Ten Americans Freed by Cuba Return Home From Havana

Ten Americans released from Cuban jails flew home Sunday night via Mexico after a brief stopover at the Geneve Hotel in Mexico City. Albert Palange of Wheatley New York said the group had been jailed for violating Cuban air space or waters and were kept isolated from other prisoners. The U.S. Embassy confirmed their arrival but withheld further details at the prisoners' request.

Ray recaptured after mountain pursuit in Tennessee

Weather outlook with warm days and possible storms

Rates suspended on property insurance in Texas

The State Insurance Board froze July 1 property rate changes amid a rehearing sought by the insurance industry. A board spokesman said new rates likely won’t take effect until fall, as rate manuals must be prepared and distributed.
